NDA & NA Eligibility Criteria
| Requirement | General rule |
|---|---|
| Nationality | The applicable UPSC notification specifies eligible nationality categories and any certificate-of-eligibility requirement. |
| Marital status | Candidates must satisfy the unmarried-status condition prescribed in the notification. |
| Educational qualification | Army Wing: Class 12 pass or equivalent. Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy: Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent. |
| Appearing candidates | Class 12 appearing candidates may apply where permitted by the applicable notification. |
| Age | A notification-specific date-of-birth window applies. Candidates must use the exact window in the cycle notification rather than a generic age range. |
Examination eligibility vs admission eligibility
Meeting the written-examination eligibility does not by itself guarantee admission. Candidates must also satisfy the applicable service, medical, physical, merit, SSB and vacancy conditions.
