Tinsukia College was founded on 1 September 1956 after local residents mobilised resources to establish a higher-education institution in the then Lakhimpur District. It began with Arts at the intermediate level, added Commerce in 1957 and introduced Science in 1964, becoming a degree college across the three streams. The college’s official site provides a 2026–27 prospectus link and directs applicants to the relevant state and university admission portals, including Darpan for higher-secondary admission and Samarth for undergraduate admission.
