Employees Selection Board, Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal is the state examination body responsible for a wide range of recruitment, selection, entrance and eligibility examinations for Madhya Pradesh government services and educational programmes. It was formerly known as the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB/Vyapam). For teacher aspirants, MPESB is relevant because it conducts teacher eligibility and teacher selection examinations, including the Eligibility Test 2026 for teachers teaching primary and secondary classes. The board also conducts recruitment tests and professional entrance examinations across multiple departments.

The examination organization traces its origins to 1970, when the Madhya Pradesh Government established the Pre-Medical Examination Board. A Pre-Engineering Board followed in 1981, and the two bodies were merged in 1982 to form the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board. In 2022, the existing Professional Examination Board was merged into the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board under amendments to the state examination legislation.

MPESB administers multiple categories of state examinations, including recruitment tests, entrance tests and eligibility tests. Its examination systems include online applications, rulebooks, admit cards, computer-based testing, answer-key objection processes, results and merit-related services. The board absorbed the former Professional Examination Board following the 2022 statutory restructuring.
